Alicia Endresen COTA/L
Alicia graduated with her Associates of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant from Lake Washington Institute of Technology in 2018. Soon after graduation, Alicia became a Board-Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, as well as licensed in the state of Washington. Throughout her time as a COTA/L she has worked with children with a variety of support needs, especially neurodivergent individuals, in outpatient and home health settings. She enjoys providing neurodivergent affirming care and providing care based on child’s interests.
Alicia believes that a child’s occupation is primary play and provides play-based interventions in order to not only meet goals but also provide children opportunities for success. Alicia values a holistic therapeutic process through building of rapport, learning interests, and understanding values in order to help children maximize their independence in activities of daily living and occupations that are meaningful to them. It is an honor for Alicia to work alongside families to support children.
Alicia has taken continuing education courses in the areas of interoception and primitive reflex integration. Understanding of our sensory system of interoception is vital in order to deeper understand emotional regulation and the connection between sensory and regulation. Regarding primitive reflex integration, Alicia sees this process as a tool to help clients make progress with their motor skills from a different lens.
Alicia is a PNW native. In her free time, Alicia enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing board games, and designing and decorating spaces.
